About the position

In the offshore business unit, we drive and manage big scale projects, often lasting 3-4 years of time from contract signature to final takeover of the wind farm. A strong focus on time, cost and scope is essential to successfully execute the projects. Many projects are overlapping each other in time, which is why, there is a need to plan and control the portfolio, ensuring that all projects have the best conditions for delivering as promised. For this we are looking for a Portfolio Planner who will join our Support Structure Department (Tower and Foundation) in Offshore Engineering.

As a SUS Portfolio Planner you will have a key role in aligning the time schedules of our various projects and supporting the SUS Engineering Managers on our Sales and Execution Projects as well as our Project Managers for New Product Development Projects in SUS. The SUS Portfolio Planner must make sure that the full overview of the project portfolio is always updated, maintained and analyzed and that it is communicated properly to the relevant stakeholders. Moreover, the Portfolio Planner is responsible for supporting the SUS Line Managers in creating scenarios for portfolio optimization, risk analysis / -mitigation, running reports and creating visualizations and proposals to enforce important decision making.

What are my responsibilities? 

As the SUS Portfolio Planner, you will be responsible for managing the portfolio planning related to tower and foundation activities.
Your assignments will cover but not be limited to:

• Maintaining the Portfolio Planning in SUS (Sales-, Execution- and New Product Development)
• Coordinating resource allocation, monitoring & evaluating across SUS in cooperation with the individual project- and line managers
• Coordinating between the SUS teams to accelerate tasks if needed
• Preparing scenario planning with the aim of evaluating potential options within the SUS Portfolio
• Preparing and presenting data to support portfolio decision-making
• Evolving and controlling the overall plan for the use of manpower for the next 0-2 years
• Analyzing and forecasting of competence needs to cover future portfolio
• Continuously and pro-actively developing the planning processes
• Supporting the SUS PM’s and ENM’s on monthly KPI reporting for ongoing projects
• Analyzing the portfolio variance, -risks and -opportunities together with the SUS line managers
• Managing stakeholders and ensuring operational alignment
• Pro-actively taking part in our continuous improvements and developing new tools, processes and procedures needed to support optimal resource- and portfolio planning, risk mitigation, etc.
• Proactive knowledge sharing by reporting lessons learned and best practices to the line organization
• Organizing own workload to ensure your time is utilized effectively

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• You hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. within an industry related field, e.g. Engineering or Project Management. Holding a PMI-SP® certification will be seen as an advantage
• You have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in Portfolio Planning and Project Management - preferably within the Offshore or Wind Power industry
• You take a long-term perspective and plan accordingly
• You are used to defining and improving business-related processes and it feels natural for you to take the lead in complex tasks with many stakeholders
• You possess IT literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications and have a solid knowledge of planning / PM tools and methodology – it will be an advantage for you to know Excel, Teamcenter, MS Projects, Primavera P6 version 6.2 or later, Tableau / Power BI, JIRA and SAP
• You have experience with managing many different stakeholders and interfaces (internally as well as externally) and succeeding in delivering in time and to the right quality
• You are structured and pragmatic in your way of dealing with issues and challenges
• You have strong analytical skills demonstrated through the ability to plan and prioritize your tasks
• You are willing and capable of assuming additional responsibilities, to work autonomously, and to commit to stringent deadlines
• You have the ability to communicate and interact with colleagues at all levels of the project- and line organization
• As a person you are positive, proactive, motivating and self-determined. You take responsibility for your work and you possess strong analytical, coordination and collaboration skills
• You enjoy working in an international environment and possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing
• You love the fun and the challenge in the race of building some of the largest offshore wind farms in the world
