Can you invent smart solutions? For a newly established position, Gubra is searching for a multitalented mechatronic engineer to drive a wide range of projects to success in collaboration with our users and CTO.
The short-term focus for the mechatronic engineer is to run and further develop a newly in-house developed data acquisition solution with the aim of creating valuable high-quality data for our researches in the fight against diabetes and obesity. The system needs to be scaled up from prototype level to a full running system meeting the increased needs and requirements from our customers. The project requires skills within mechanics, programming and hardware (electronics).
The long-term focus for the mechatronic engineer is to be the driver in designing, developing and maintaining systems in our laboratories optimizing workflows related to data collection. An exciting Database Project is in the making, which will lead to more projects for the mechatronic engineer.
You will be a part of a group consisting of the CTO, project- and product managers, bioinformaticians, IT specialists and a software team placed in India. As the only mechatronic engineer (so far) in the team, you enjoy working independently and are taking initiatives, but most importantly you drive your projects from A-Z with perseverance. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, e.g. animal technicians, CTO and external suppliers etc.
Gubra is a company with a very dynamic and fast-paced drive. We work with preclinical contract research services and proprietary early target and drug discovery programs in the metabolic research space. The purpose of the newly established position is to support the many studies with brilliant automatization and utilization projects.
Your tasks as mechatronics engineer include but are not limited to:
- Further development, up-scaling and production of newly designed measurement system, which includes 3D CAD design, hardware, and software development
- Design and develop data collection devices in collaboration with software development projects
- Participate in and contribute to further development of automatization and smarter data acquisition in our facilities, including facility monitoring and alarm-systems
- Develop ad hoc solutions and parts
Professional qualifications:
You have a background as an engineer with drive for thinking in smart solutions.
- Relevant theoretical education e.g. mechatronics engineering, or other engineering within mechanical design, electronics or software with practical experience within the other two
- Experience with 3D design in CAD software (Fusion 360 or similar)
- Experience with electronics, e.g., you can make simple designs with microprocessors, digital and analogue electronics work
- Programming experience – you can solve problems using Python, Javascript, MATLAB, C, R, or similar
- You are innovative and can realize your solutions as working products
In addition to your theoretical and technical knowledge you also enjoy “getting your hands dirty” and make things work.

You take great pride in your professional work, you are on time and simultaneously manage to be flexible. Other personal qualifications include team spirit, good communication skills and a constructive mind set when troubleshooting is necessary. In general, you have a positive approach and are dedicated to your work. You solve your assignments carefully and thoroughly. Moreover, you can manage many different tasks.
