Hello and thank you for considering becomming a part of our family. We are the Schou family, a Christian family of 5 (+ a dog), located in the heart og Denmark in a city called Ikast. I´m Sarah (a full time teacher from DK) along with my husband Erik (full time student, originally from USA) and our 3 adorable children, Clinton (4), Liberty (2) and Calvin (1), we are looking for that special someone to be a part for our family, starting in January and for minimum one year. Clinton has started preschool 5 days a week, so the primary care is for Liberty and Calvin, and part time care for Clinton, when he is out of preschool.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe enviroment for the cildren
  • Supervise the children´s activities at all times during obligated hours
  • Plan and prepare meals for, and feed, the children
  • Help children dress
  • Place the children down for naps and bedtime if needed
  • Bathe the children
  • Change diapers
  • Potty train the children
  • Preform housework related to childcare, including cleaning up after meals and tidying play areas
  • Teach the children good social manners
  • Play with the children, both indoors and outdoors
  • Plan and lead educational activities, including reading, with the children
  • Take the children to and from activities

 

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • EU-citizen or have a permit to take work in Denmark
  • Reliable, honest, and trustworthy
  • Ability to work up to a 48 hour work week
  • Proficient in English
  • If not speaking Danish; willing to learn Danish and go to classes
  • Experience caring for children
  • Ability to plan, organize, and multitask with minimal supervision
  • Training in early childhood education preferred
  • Driver´s license preferred
  • Insight in Scandinavian culture preferred
