Do you want to help us drive performance of our trading activities?  

Join us and become Lead Trader at the UK Power Desk, where you’ll be part of the team responsible for trading UK power for the Group. We deliver strong trading results and support the business in managing UK Power exposure as well as contribute in business development, sales and origination activities. You’ll report to the Head of UK Power Desk, one trading team within the overall Market Trading department  

Your key tasks will be to  

• deliver strong trading results within your own portfolio and contribute to the performance of the desk 
• identify and execute trading strategies in the UK power market  
• ensure compliance with risk mandates and a compliant management of our portfolio. 
• support the business in successful management of UK power exposures deriving from energy derivatives.  
• conduct analyses of market intelligence, regulatory developments and fundamental cost drivers, and translate these into trading strategies and presentations. 

 Furthermore, you’ll identify opportunities to develop the business by engaging in new products that support the management of the desk’s portfolio. You’re part of a team and as such expected to collaborate with team members, contribute to daily identification of trading opportunities and contribute in managing the desk’s daily activities.  

Your competences include that you 

• have extensive relevant experience and a strong track record of trading UK power or similar commodities  
• have demonstrated strong trading discipline and effective risk management 
• have a deep understanding of the fundamentals in the UK energy markets and eagerness to work with market intelligence and developments in regulatory framework 
• have strong excel skills and experience working with VBA-programming. 

 Moreover, experience with trading energy-related options and management of Greek exposures is advantageous as is experience working with structured energy assets and contracts. You enjoy sharing your expertise with your colleagues, take responsibility and cooperate smoothly within an international environment. You’re structured and have an analytical mind-set combined with an in-depth understanding of the UK energy markets. You’re positive, a strong team player, detail-oriented and you welcome change. Finally, you have strong commercial and communication skills and can work in an international trading environment.
