For our Structural Design Department (SDD) we are looking for an ambitious Lead Structural Design Engineer, who is a specialist within the field of composite structures and dedicated to the development of our future products. The Department has the full responsibility for structural design, materials and structural validation of our wind turbine blades, and work in close collaboration with aerodynamics, other R&D functions, and the Production department. The department is a part of Technology and the position is located in Aalborg. What are my responsibilities? · Design, analysis and optimization of wind turbine blade structures · FEA and analytical modeling of composite structures · Validation of wind turbine blade structures through e.g. full scale and substructure test · Definition of specifications regarding production and quality etc. · Analysis of defects and failure in fiber-reinforced polymer materials · Certification documentation according to industry-specific guidelines (wind turbine blades) · Develop and improve design tools, methodologies and processes ensuring a high level of confidence and quality in our designs What do I need to qualify for this job? · You have an educational background as a MSc. preferably within composite mechanics, machinery or construction · You have working experience in a technical engineering organization preferably aerospace, automotive or wind energy · You have strong knowledge of composite materials, test methods and failure analysis of composites. · You have living and/or working experience in an intercultural environment · You possess determination and persistency · You have the ability to work independently and the desire to drive own assignments · You are analytical, outgoing, ambitious and goal oriented · You are responsible, dynamic and willing to adapt · You possess strong communication and cooperation skills, as well as excellent English skills in writing and speech In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
