- Laboratory Technician - Denmark - Måløv We are looking to employ a dynamic and engaged lab. technician for in vitro research focusing on identifying and characterising new and improved treatment for people with obesity. About the department Obesity Biology is a dynamic team of 5 scientists and 9 technicians engaged in all stages of obesity research from generation of project ideas to scientific support of development projects. The department is placed in Måløv, and is a part of the Diabetes and Obesity Biology area in Global Research. The job Our primary experimental focus is on receptor binding and signal transduction studies. Your job will include assay development and test of protein and peptide based compounds in binding assays, cell-lines, primary cells, and potentially also in tissue such as brain, fat, liver or muscle. You will work with a wide range of in vitro methods including assay technologies (eg. SPA, luciferase, FlashPlate, AlphaScreen), Western blotting, ELISA, rodent tissue dissection for ex vivo studies (RNA isolation and radioligand binding), purification of RNA/DNA and PCR as well as cell culture and transfection. You will work together with all members of the department and be part of a team with one academic and one or more lab technicians. Qualifications You have an education as a laboratory technician and 3+ years of working experience from a research environment where you have worked with biochemical, molecular- and cell biological methods. We expect that you have solid experience in data analysis and independent planning of your experiments. As a person you are energetic, flexible and engaged with a can do attitude. You are well-organised, good at electronic data handling and reporting and take pride in delivering high-quality data. You are able to work independently but at the same time you are a team player and enjoy contributing to a good working atmosphere.
