Then this is your chance as we are looking for an IFRS Financial Controller to join Consolidated Reporting at Novo Nordisk.

 

About the department

Consolidated reporting is part of Corporate Accounting, a unit in Corporate Finance at Novo Nordisk. Consolidated reporting comprises fourteen employees, divided into two teams; Team Consolidation and Team External Reporting. 

The department enforces the Novo Nordisk group accounting policies and practices with no surprises. We are responsible for utilizing our center of excellence within accounting in compliance with IFRS, consolidation and closing processes, production and inventory valuation and accounting, preparation of the Novo Nordisk Annual Report, financial statements and US Form 20-F filing. The goal for the department is to “be ahead of compliance” by proactively be in the forefront of all changes in the accounting environment as well as in the business of Novo Nordisk.

 

The position

You will work as in-house expert and business partner on accounting issues guiding financial managers throughout the world and ensure cross-functional control and reporting of specific accounting areas, with specific focus on revenue recognition and trade receivables.  You will be responsible for the monthly management reporting and Annual Report disclosure note for trade receivables. 

You will be involved in the implementation of new accounting standards, including optimisation of reporting processes. You will also participate in or be the project manager of cross-functional projects in close cooperation with other finance units throughout our global organisation.

You will be part of a dynamic team of external accounting specialists responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting to top management - with the opportunity of further developing your finance skills and of gaining extensive knowledge of the business. 

The team is the process owner of a number of key finance processes such as preparation of external financial reporting on a quarterly and annually basis, including ensuring efficient and accurate financial reporting in accordance with Novo Nordisk's accounting policy and IFRS.  In addition, the team is responsible for managing and controlling fixed assets and trade receivables for the Novo Nordisk Group. 

Maintaining the accounting manual and assessing impact from new IFRSs and implementing these into corporate accounting policies is done in close dialogue with operational units ensuring a strong business understanding in our team. We also aim to influence the development in IFRS and Danish accounting legislation through comments on exposure drafts and new legislation drafts. 

Because we aim to be true business partners by linking finance with business development, we expect you to invest significant time and effort in understanding the business environment in which Novo Nordisk operates.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced auditor or financial controller solid knowledge of IFRS with preferable (6-) 8 years’ experience in a similar position or as an auditor dealing with IFRS companies. 

Most likely, you also have a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar, or even a qualification as a State Authorised Public Accountant. Furthermore, you have strong analytical skills, an enterprising and engaging personality showing strong responsibility for your task and projects. 

Combined with your strong communication skills and good sense of humour, these traits allow you to contribute proactively to our team with ideas and initiatives. In addition to being fluent in written and spoken English, you are also ready to invest both time and effort in your personal and professional development.
