Leading and building a strategically important new global function in LEO Pharma

LEO Pharma has embarked on a very ambitious journey to become the world’s preferred dermatology care partner – and that is why we need you. Developing new competences will be a key enabler for LEO Pharma in succeeding with our strategy, so in order to drive strategic competency development a global training unit called “LEO Pharma Academy” is currently being built. The  Head of LEO Academy will be the lead for further shaping, developing and driving this.

The job

The Head of LEO Academy will establish and lead of the LEO Pharma Academy which owns and drives strategic competency development across LEO Pharma. With the Academy being a key component of the 2025 strategy, the global learning and development manager will be responsible for building and driving this as well as developing and executing learning courses and programmes. The success is measured by the ability to design and deliver solutions that enables the rest of LEO to be successful in executing on the strategy and to LEO people to grow and develop.

We work cross-functionally and support or colleagues from around the world.  We expect you to build a dynamic team that ensure top-of-class learning and development at global scale for strategic competences.  

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Build and drive the LEO Pharma Academy incl. shaping the global training process, setup key working relationships with the business (e.g. leading a global learning and development network) and leading a small team.
• Work closely with subject matter experts across LEO in the creation and implementation of strategic competency learning and development programmes
• Design and implement learning and development materials and programmes based on the 70-20-10 learning principle and the latest approaches to learning.
• Manage external partners in terms of negotiation, contracts including service level agreements, and defining how to work with partners in the Academy.

The LEO Pharma Academy is a new function in LEO Pharma, and as you will be leading the establishment of the Academy it is important that you a motivated by the opportunity to build and influence.

Your qualifications

• Degree in learning, people development, business psychology, business or similar  
• 5+ years of experience in learning/development, HR and/or consultancy 
• Strong track record in relationship building and management
• Global experience
• Experience of working with external partners
• Experience from a pharma company is preferred
• Mastery in English, written and spoken

Skills such as collaboration, balancing stakeholders, communicating effectively and having a global mindset are critical. Travelling should be expected in this role (20-40 days).

You are very likely to have experience working as a trainer and wishing to take this a step further. Although you are not expected to act as a trainer in this role and instead is more likely to be coaching other internal trainers, there may be cases where you step in to perform training.

Your new team

You will join a team of dedicated professionals in Strategy Execution & Change who are driving LEO Pharma’s transformation journey. Our responsibilities cover LEO Pharma’s change roadmap, ostrategic portfolio management, change management and not least LEO Pharma Academy. In addition to yourself, a coordinator (hiring in process) as well as 1-2 additional professionals are expected to be onboarded to your team.
