The role’s purpose

In Ramboll we have during the last 30 years developed a software package ROSAP tailor-made for designing offshore foundations. Thanks to ROSAP Ramboll has today a market share of approximately 65% of offshore wind market worldwide. However, to keep the leading position, we must embrace recent digital solutions and technologies and continuously modernize ROSAP. We need the right competence and mindset for this job. Your responsibilities as Software developer in Ramboll Energy

You are a software engineer or data scientist interested in building front-end, back-end or full stack services for a new and innovative cloud architecture to the benefit of Ramboll’s services primarily circulated around the ROSAP software package, where you will build, design and implement scalable cloud-based web applications for PaaS, IaaS or SaaS.

You will use your experience with software development within a virtual and international team to ensure a professional and robust software code that can be further developed in the future.

You and your competencies

You have a minimum of 5 years of experience with either practical or scientific work, where you have focused on the development of software and tools. You must have solid experience with programming and development of a large-scale software package, but you do not need a degree within programming or similar.

Required competences:

  • Relevant Master’s degree or higher education within software development or computer science
  • General software programming experience in Java, C/C++, Python, Go, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming
  • Experience with distributed computing
  • Familiarity with open source cloud and application platforms, Google App Engine development experience, Kubernetes, Kafka, Hadoop/Spark, Sql, Linux
  • Good understanding of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing and networking, massive data storage

Relevant competences:

  • Experience with Git, GitHub or GitLab
  • Experience with both Agile and CI/CD development tools
  • Experience with Rest API’s, Json and SqLite
  • Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
  • Knowledge about unit testing, build automation and continuous integration
  • Large systems software design and development experience, with experience in Unix/Linux
  • Experience with data analyses

About Ramboll Offshore Wind

We are 130 people in the offshore wind departments, where you will work closely together with our software developers and engineers. We have a well-established low hierarchy development team that is a joint collaboration between Ramboll’s departments working within the Offshore Wind business and the Oil and Gas business. You will be part of an international environment as Ramboll Offshore Wind is also operating from offices in Aarhus, Copenhagen, Hamburg and London and you will collaborate with the many ROSAP and software users in Ramboll Energy
