Executive Officer (specialkonsulent) for Student Recruitment activities in Northern Germany

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a position as executive officer (specialkonsulent) to lead a project from 1 September 2016 with a duration of two years with the possibility for extension if financing allows. The University of Southern Denmark is a multi-campus university with the main campus in Odense and, among others, a campus site in Sønderborg at the German/Danish border. The Faculty of Engineering has educational activities at bachelor, master and PhD level in Odense and Sønderborg. The position is located at the Faculty of Engineering with place of work at the Mads Clausen Institute in Sønderborg. Sønderborg is an international campus with students from more than 60 nationalities and the university has a great interest in attracting students to the engineering study programmes from the Northern German region, especially from Schleswig Holstein. A main task of the new executive officer will be to develop and implement a concept on how to attract students from Schleswig Holstein to SDUs engineering study programmes in Sønderborg and Odense. Requirements and qualifications The applicant must have: - At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably within social science - documented experience in project initiation and management, evaluation, metastudies etc - Good communication skill and be fluent in German and English - willingness to travel in Northern Germany - social competence and open mindedness - Self-motivation and the ability to work independently The applicant must enclose with the application a short draft of a possible concept to attract more Northern German students. Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
