Description 

Join our Pipe Design Methodology group you and be part of a team who defines the design rules of the flexibles pipes. The design rules are implemented in software and are used by the engineering team. Our flexible pipes are used for versatile offshore oil and gas applications. Each pipe is tailor designed and manufactured for the specific application. The design methodologies shall result in pipe designs that are optimised for technical and economical performance.

 

Your main tasks will be:

  • Continuous improvements and development of our design rules.
  • Specification of test requirements both for small scale material testing and full scale pipe testing
  • Interpretation of test results
  • Modelling of the flexible pipes with respect to strength and thermal performance both in analytical tools and finite element
  • Cooperation with our engineering department who uses the design rules
  • Cooperation with testing department
  • Cooperation with our material department
  • Communication with clients regarding the background of the design rules

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Able to understand and analyse mechanical and thermal behaviour and focus on the essentials
  • Able to define and document methodologies that other engineers can implement
  • Compare theoretical predictions with tests results
  • Systematically document your work
  • Preparing and checking of design and analysis documents
  • Technical support to the rest of the organisation because of your in-depth knowledge about the methodologies and their validation

Ensure a timely execution of assigned projects

Travel as and when required in order to support business 

 

Qualifications 

We expect that you have the following qualifications:

  • An education in civil, mechanical, naval, or subsea engineering with strong analytical skills.
  • You are excited about solid mechanics and analyses
  • You are a positive person that likes being engaged in a dynamic environment
  • You speak and write English fluently and you like to document your work
