Are you an analyst with a few years of work experience who is motivated by providing expert advice and market analyses to decision makers at management and senior management level? Join DONG Energy and become Analyst in Origination Gas, which is responsible for the long-term gas portfolio of the group, including all sourcing of gas from our growing E&P business. You join an experienced team involved in strategy, planning and negotiations with counterparts concerning various agreements in the Northern European gas industry. The department is part of Customers & Markets, which has 1,600 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We handle the production from our wind farms and oil and gas fields for the energy exchanges and customers in Northern Europe, and we distribute electricity and natural gas to businesses and private customers in Denmark. You will be based at our office in Virum. You should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility Your primary task is to provide recommendations and business cases on the basis of a solid understanding and analysis of European energy markets - its stakeholders and economics. You act as a sparring partner with other key stakeholders in the organisation, including the finance and valuation department in order to provide best possible support and insights into the commercial negotiations. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •assist with preparation of commercial negotiations based on detailed analysis of energy markets, financial analysis, data analysis, price calculations and present these to stakeholders at different levels in the organisation •thoroughly monitor and understand the market development in energy commodities – primarily gas •provide economic insights and support in relation to economic analysis, risk assessment and risk mitigation •analyse and keep track of commercial data on existing contracts •identify commercial and strategic opportunities to existing as well as new activities. Your profile You have an education in economics, business or finance at master level corresponding to the Danish educations cand.oecon., cand.polit. or cand.merc. or similar. Ideally, you have some experience within research, market analysis, or consulting. Furthermore, you possess unique analytical skills – both with attention to detail and the ability to grasp the overall commercial interest. You speak English at negotiation level and have proven excellent communication skills (writing and Power Point). On a personal level, you have the capacity to handle short deadlines without compromising on quality. You are able to work independently as well as part of a team – with substantial personal drive and result orientation.
