You will be part of a dedicated and growing team of experts that fully lives the mission "Deliver best-in-class energy solutions for the benefit of Vestas' customers and the planet" - by initially integrating Photo Voltaic and Energy Storage Systems into our product offerings.  
This will require knowledge of how variable renewable energy sources, like wind and solar in combination with storage, are integrated, interconnected and managed, but in this case most importantly, how it is remunerated..
Responsibilities

• Hands-on approach to modeling, simulation, data management, and visualisation of power plant systems.
• Develop a generic VPP framework for existing Vestas Power Solutions, enumerating services deliverable and accrued benefits.
• Spearhead the delivery of a software solution and ICT platform to support such VPP framework implementation.
• Ability to perform/drive applied research and academic collaborations around Virtual Power Plants, microgrids, micro-energy systems, renewable charging stations, and implement prototypes and demonstrators.
• Work with EMS architect and other stakeholders within the organisation to define, plan and develop next generation systems and solutions.
• Keep an eye on the advancements in the area, and undertake technology scouting.
• Develop and implement roadmaps for new aggregation, visualisation and data-driven plant control and operation concepts.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Electrical or Power Engineering
• 5+ years' experience defining and developing solutions with a strong focus on distribution networks and power systems
• Demonstrated experience with architecture and application aspects of Virtual Power Plants
• Experience with data-driven modeling, optimisation, production and consumption forecasting, ICT infrastructure relevant in the context of VPPs

Competencies

• Strong mathematical and statistical modeling skills
• Familiar with energy markets, market design principles and electricity distribution network operation
• Familiar with mathematical modeling approaches and asset aggregation approaches
• Familiar with V2G, microgrids, blockchain technologies
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
• Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
• Effective verbal and written communication skills as required for the position
• You are a team-player who finds it easy to interact effectively with employees, management, vendors, clients etc.
• You have a high drive and can challenge status quo while maintaining flow
• You find it challenging and interesting to work with other people in a large organisation and can build an intensive network across cultures and time zones
• You are self-motivated, pro-active, open-minded and attracted by an international environment
