The position
In the Business Intelligence team, we are looking for a helping hand with advanced analytics. The candidate must, as a minimum:

1. Be comfortable working with structured and unstructured data;
2. Understand basic statistical concepts and be able to make decisions him/herself for further analysis;
3. Be familiar with basic machine learning theory: supervised and unsupervised learning, cleaning data, modeling and prototype building. Expertise is not a requirement, we are looking for enthusiasm over experience.
4. Have the willingness to assign time for investigating, learning and documenting business processes. This will be an activity done both in a team manner but also as a standalone task. Candidate must be comfortable with switching between team and self-work.
5. As a minimum, have beginner level of a statistical programming language: we prefer R, but it is not by any stretch a fixed requirement.
6. Be able to simplify and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders, for decision making.

 

The candidate will work in close collaboration with the BI team, with main focus on data science projects. There will be a minimum of ad-hoc tasks. A mentor will be assigned to you, who will onboard you, work with you and to whom you will directly report your progress. It is very important for us that you are comfortable and enjoy your work and that you feel like part of the team at all times.

Expected working hours
We estimate a work load of about 2 days per week (sometimes 3 in high peak periods). This amounts to 7.5 hours daily.

Your direct supervisor will accommodate your workload based on your school hours and vacations, and this will be done on an ongoing basis, to avoid overloading.
