Are you a highly motivated student who has interest in process simulation? Are you eager to apply theory to practice and directly have influence on process improvement and optimisation? If so, we offer a challenging and fun student position in Utility and Solvents (US) support, Kalundborg.

About the department
You will be a part of the Novo Nordisk Insulin production, Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (DAPI), and assigned to Insulin Manufacturing 1 (IM1), the world’s largest Insulin Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) production facility located in Kalundborg. You will be employed in Utility & Solvents support, a department with around 74 colleagues.

The position
Your main task is for the continued development of a dynamic distillation model for process improvement and optimisation. This entails understanding and improving existing steady state and dynamic models and expansion. You will need to applying theory related to thermodynamics, process design, control and optimisation.

Since the nature of the job is student based, you will also have the opportunity to develop and learn how to apply R&D based concepts into real-world application using knowledge that you have and will gain from an academic degree.

Furthermore, you will gain experience in working in a global company and manufacturing environment. Therefore, you will be part of an organisation that values creativity, innovation and the ability to work with people with different backgrounds.

Qualifications
The candidate should have the following or developing qualifications:

Studying within the field of chemical and/or process engineering at a Danish university
About to or already within an MSc programme. NOTE: upon job start the candidate should have at least one semester left before their MSc thesis
Focus area of studies: process design, modelling and optimisation
Understanding of basic process control theory
Understanding of basic process simulation programs

Coupled with the above, you enjoy solving complex problems applying a systems approach in order to manage complexity and arrive at a feasible applicable solution.
