To be a candidate GPMO DMM you should be in a position to answer ‘Yes’ to these questions:

• Do you have experience running a portfolio of complex programs?
• Have you had personal experience winning and delivering large programs ($10M+)?
• Can you recruit and lead a team of highly experienced Program/Project Managers?
• Do you want to take responsibility for Microsoft Services largest and most complex programs/projects?
• Can you work with a team of project leadership professionals in all stages from Lead to Cash?
• Do you have proven capability to foster and manage relationships with internal teams (eg Product Groups), enterprise customers, and partners to achieve successful program/project outcomes?
• Do you have experience recovering large programs that have ‘drifted off track’?

 

Responsibilities

As a member of the GPMO leadership team, you are expected to:

• Lead all GPMO activities in EMEA;
• Be a strong team player, assisting the WW team, and your peers to achieve success;
• Ensure that you, and the teams you lead, are exemplars for the behaviors and standards expected for a world class delivery organization;
• Be an active member of the World-Wide Delivery Management community;
• Take accountability for delivering the outcomes for the EMEA time zone business and the broader GPMO business.

You will be responsible for leading a team of Program/Project Managers and other roles on Microsoft’s most complex deals/engagements, to deliver high quality outcomes, which result in very satisfied customers.  A successful GPMO DMM has an effective and healthy delivery team and meets business metrics in a compliant, predictable, and reliable way.

You, and the people you lead, will participate as part of an integrated team responsible for:

• Supporting pre-sales activities to help secure our largest programs and ensure they are setup for successful delivery;
• On time, on budget, and on expectation delivery of complex programs;
• Ensuring strong governance of the portfolio;
• Project delivery quality, profitability and customer satisfaction, among other metrics;
• Ensuring strong governance and monitoring of the health of a broad spectrum of programs;
• Maintaining program delivery quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction, among other metrics;
• Fostering and maintaining relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders to correctly manage expectations and achieve successful program outcomes;
• Making others successful.

This will also include

• Communicating Microsoft vision and drive Microsoft strategies & priorities;
• Supporting, coaching and enabling employees and partners to achieve their full potential;
• Leading your team to provide successful solution deployments and demonstrating clear business value;
• Reviewing the program portfolio and driving project profitability, adherence to cost estimates, forecast accuracy, and revenue recognition;
• Managing the cadence of the delivery business in your geography.

Key Responsibilities:

• People management & leadership (approximately 25% of time);
• Engagement in the process of program sales and peer support (Approximately 20% of time)
• Oversight of your team’s programs/projects (Approximately 30%of time);
• Business Management (Approximately 25% of time);

 

Qualifications

Experiences Required:

• 10+ years of related management experience;
• Change management;
• 5+ years of large program delivery management
• Problem solving and escalation management;
• Strong People Management ability supporting Microsoft values.

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) required
• PMI certification preferred
