We are looking for an experienced and skilled real time control engineer to join our Plant Control Software team. Service & Plant Solutions / Plant Solutions / Plant Power Systems / Plant Control Systems / Control System Design Control System Design which is a part of Plant Power Systems (PPS) which again is a part of Plant Solutions, within our Technology organization. Plant Solutions is responsible for developing products and services, which enable our regional sales organizations to sell, install and service turnkey Wind Power Plants. The products and services are transforming a group of Wind Turbines into a Wind Power Plant on par with traditional power plants. This includes electrical grid connection and compliance, SCADA systems, data acquisitions, data analysis and siting. The PPS department is responsible for electrical grid integration of the Vestas Wind Turbine portfolio. We have an impact on the total value chain from market requirements to development of solutions to advanced technical training and support of our regional sales organizations - with the main purpose to ensure grid connection of Vestas' Wind Power Plants to various Power Systems worldwide. PPS consist of two different competence domains working smoothly together: Electrical Engineering and Controls Development. Electrical Engineering is responsible for collecting and influencing the electrical requirements from Transmission System Operators written in Grid Codes as well as designing solutions - to be implemented in our advanced Power Plant Controller. Controls development is responsible for our core product: the Power Plant Controller incl. embedded and real time SW development, release management and support - also including HW development of all SCADA system products. Responsibilities: You will be working with all or a subset of these challenges: Design of software architecture and implementation of solutions for Wind Power Plant controls Specification of verification procedures and processes for software development Verification of software functionality by use of Hardware In the Loop test environment Full scale site- and grid impact test of new designs Secure proper integration in the combined architecture around industrial standards like ISO/IEC, NERC/FERC etc. Writing and reviewing of Requirement Specifications, Design Descriptions, Verification Procedures and –Reports Qualifications: A M.Sc. or B.Sc. within Software Engineering or similar 5-10 years of experience with R&D real time plant control software development Experience with designing large and complex control systems Competencies: You have proficiency in agile software development in C++ You have a proven track record of making software implementation descriptions and verification reports Knowledge of Model Based Design and simulation model development (Matlab/Simulink or PSCAD) would be advantageous Experience with industrial protocols and fieldbuses; TCP/IP, DNP/3, Modbus, serial etc. You have the desire and the ability to understand and maintain overview of a wide range of advanced technical domains with primary focus at control architecture Excellent communication skills in English orally and written You are customer-oriented and have the ability to understand the complete business value chain seen from a customer perspective You are capable of implementing new processes and get people to follow You are able to challenge the existing procedures while maintaining flow You are driven by results and can get things done while still caring about the details You find it challenging and interesting to work with other people in a large organizat
