Vestas Power Solutions is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved and tested. In the New Product Introduction (NPI) department, we focus on the products of tomorrow and work with cutting edge technologies. We take projects from early product development until implementation into factories, supporting all platforms under development. This position is placed in Process, Technology & NPI Towers department which is a sub-department to NPI.   

Process, Technology & NPI Towers is a truly global department which closely collaborates with other departments worldwide. You will join an organisation with several experienced NPI Leads, where we share knowledge across areas and prepare improvements to increase synergy between projects. You will become active in the project, but also in the organisation to improve and further mature the way they execute. They expect to learn from you, just as you can expect to learn from them! 

 

Responsibilities
As NPI Lead, you will be responsible for the delivery of NPI Milestone Plan and detailed project plan of the scope to secure the documentation package for production. Furthermore, the NPI Lead must ensure usage of DF(x) planned activities to secure the overall risk picture up against the 0-series, starting from the concept phase and ensure that the product reaches the Technical Review’s on agreed time and quality by supporting the risk mitigations.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver NPI Milestone Plan and detailed project plan and drive the execution according to NPI project plans 
  • Communicate status within project team, Manufacturing and NPI Management 
  • Ensuring an effective and transparent OSOS system at factory, running from the first build in production
  • Ensuring the creation and maintenance of a usable and tested PWI package incl. PII's
  • Communicating the overall risk picture towards the platform, NPI and blade management and facilitate readiness level evaluations
  • Facilitate Reoccurrence NC overview and NC handling incl. design NC handling    
  • Being a FIRM gatekeeper at Peer Reviews and Technical Reviews  


Qualifications

We expect you to hold a relevant engineering degree preferably in Mechanical or Production Engineering combined with several years of experience of project management, preferable within product development. Moreover, we see the following as relevant qualifications to get success in the position:  

  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in related position in a global organisation
  • Experience with technical project management of complex projects with multiple stakeholders and suppliers
  • Knowledge in lay up in molds and assembly processes

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work along the entire value chain incl. all levels of the organisation  
  • A structured approach to your assignments and able to handle project changes occurring in a dynamic R&D environment
  • Pride in delivering the projects as agreed, on cost - on time
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Good analytical skills and a good understanding of business processes
  • The ability to keep a holistic overview of your project without missing the important details
  • A both technically sound and commercially viable approach to solving problems
