Job Description

Danfoss Drives is looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer to assist R&D in implementing proactive methods for building reliable and durable products. You will be based in Gråsten, Denmark and will work with a wide range of stakeholders to create synergy between design, functionality and the reliability of our products. Your primary focus will be to influence the new product design early in the design process to achieve new product reliability goals by using Design for Reliability tools. The DFR will ensure that reliability is considered as one of the key designs along with consideration of the manufacturing from concept to production launch. 
 
Background and skills
To be considered for this position, you must hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical engineering, or another relevant technical major. Equally important is proven work experience in the design and product development field for electro-mechanical products as well as experience within reliability engineering. Overall, you have a hands-on analytical approach to engineering.
 
Your main responsibilities include: 

• Work with Project Core Team and Engineering Leads to prepare and execute DFR Plan for new products 
• Perform field data analysis to understand the baseline reliability performance and to identify opportunities for improvement 
• Build Reliability Block Diagrams for new products, allocate reliability targets and provide guidance in designing for targets
• Participate in the design phase focusing on the application of DfR, the DFSS processes and tools
• Develop and run Physics of Failure based on reliability tests
• Maintain and communicate appropriate reliability status in a timely manner
• Develop and maintain standard work for Design for Reliability activities. 

This role will also involve coaching the design engineers in using the Design for Reliability tools. Therefore, you must have good communication, interpersonal and project management skills. 
 
Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in DfX, DfR & DFSS
• Experience in Physics of Failure approaches
• Experience with Minitab/Weibull, BlockSim and FMEA software
• Experience with IATF 16949
• Reliability Engineer certification is an advantage.
