Can you lead key initiatives, drive negotiation processes and manage strategic supplier relationships? Then you might be our new Senior Purchasing Manager for the Towers/Steel Team?

Vestas Global Procurement is overall responsible for all supply chain management activities within Vestas Wind System A/S, including Leading Cross Functional Category Teams, negotiations, cost out initiatives, Category Strategy Development and Implementation, quality and delivery performance, supplier relationship management and Supplier Account Management.

The category for which the Senior Purchasing Manager is needed is the Tower Manufacturing Category. This Area consists of a +20 suppliers with a 3 digit million EUR spend per year.

The category is globally responsible from the entire external Tower Manufacturing Spend.

Responsibilities

You will lead key initiatives in Global Procurement, focused on Value add, Supplier Relationship Management, Innovation and supply chain optimization. By working closely with the Category Team and key stakeholders you will:

• Lead your supply base so to support Vestas' overall strategy.
• Develop Strategies for the Category, ensuring Strategic focus, best in class supplier performance, technology innovation screening, ensuring competitive advantages, long term strategic planning and target setting.
• Optimize the current supply base including the cost base.
• Become a leading part of the Category Team, working across different business units within Vestas and providing input to and implementation of the category strategies
• Drive continuous improvement programs both internally and at the suppliers with special focus on cost saving initiatives, Value Chain optimization, supplier optimization, Excellent Quality, Zero injury safety record and best in class commercial terms.
• Ensure adherence to KPI's set by Global Procurement in regards to safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation and sustainability.
• Lead Supplier selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting within the category
• Manage the Tower Manufacturing Supply Chain from a total cost perspective.

Qualifications

• The right candidate has 5+ Years of Negotiations experience combined with a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Finance/Accounting, Sales/Marketing or Engineering
• Excellent communication skills including fluent English skills (both orally and in writing)
• Advanced skills within PPT, Excel & Word is a must

Additional information
