Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager

Set new global standards for the LEGO bricks
At our headquarters in Billund, you will join 50 dedicated specialists in Technical Mould Development (TMD). We are responsible for developing the best injection mould solutions possible and about to implement and develop a new platform for multicomponent moulding. This way, we will enhance and increase the development of new and existing elements.
As our technical specialist, your main goal is to lead this implementation, ensuring scalability, sustainability and future road maps for TMD. Thus, you take ownership of the technical solution, and soon you will ensure implementation on a global scale too.
Doing so, you will:
- Lead the entire TMD department to develop state-of-the-art 2-3 component elements
- Strengthen the team competences by establishing standards, training material and master classes
- Establish global standards and best practise for multicomponent elements
- Be involved with different stakeholders both counting the management group and our mechanical engineers
- Ensure high quality and continue our lean journey, including cost effective mould solutions, reduction of lead time and risk minimisation

You will be a valued partner within knowledge sharing, working at the heart of the LEGO Group. As a specialist, your role is of high impact and you help ensure that we stay in the leading position of world-class moulding. Thus, you will guide the TMD team to improve the LEGO experience by creating new and exciting mould solutions or by pursuing new opportunities to upgrade existing ones.
Mechanical specialist with playful mindset
This position will challenge your ability to implement technical sound solutions with high efficiency as well as promote employer understanding of the solutions in TMD. You know how to drive continuous improvements, and you have strong collaboration and communications skills.
In addition, you have:
- 4+ years of experience as mould developer in multicomponent moulding
- 10+ years’ experience within toolmaking and designing elements, and you posses a mechanical understanding of injection moulding and tool constructions
- A mechanical engineering degree
- An end-to-end perspective for creations of high quality moulds
- Experience with design in 3D CAD systems, such as NX
