Would you like to join a team of highly skilled employees working with the structural integrity of our offshore wind farms? Join DONG Energy and become a Senior Structural Engineer in the Balance of Plant Integrity Management department. We are DONG Energy’s competence centre for structural integrity, and we are responsible for the inspection and evaluation of onshore and offshore structures for all our operational wind farms across Europe. In the department, you will have the opportunity to deliver the processes for the inspection and evaluation of our infrastructure. You will be one of the key technical leads in the development of maintenance systems for offshore structures, and you will support structural integrity activities for our offshore assets. Balance of Plant Integrity Management is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You will be based at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. You should, however, expect some travelling in the UK and Germany and be willing to work at our operational sites for limited periods of time. Areas of responsibility You will be part of a team focusing on the structural integrity of offshore assets, performing overall evaluation and providing recommendations with a view of ensuring the long term integrity of all wind farm structural components. You will play a key part in the optimisation of inspection measurement and evaluation techniques, and the development of condition monitoring systems for structures. Furthermore, your primary tasks will be to: •maintain a portfolio view of structural asset health, risks and issues •support the inspection team on inspection techniques and on identification and evaluation of structural issues including corrosion, grout, scour, structural dynamics, etc. •create and optimise inspection procedures and optimise inspection works with respect to time, costs and QHSE •deliver concise reports, memos and presentations on structural issues and establish operational requirements and standards with respect to structures for future wind farms •ensure quality of structural assets and documentation in the handover from construction to the operational phase. You will have the opportunity to work within a team of structural engineers and inspectors to proactively identify integrity issues, assess impact on asset lifetime and provide pragmatic recommendations for rectification. Your profile You have engineering qualifications at bachelor's or master's level, or equivalent. Moreover, you have knowledge of structural codes and standards and experience with ageing offshore structural assets. You also have an understanding of inspection techniques and common structural failure modes and the ability to identify root cause of issues and failures and assess impact on integrity of a structure. In addition, you have an understanding of structural inspection, monitoring and maintenance processes and systems as well as experience in performing FMEA or FMECA for the structural part of the asset. You will preferably have 10 years+ experience in a technical structural engineering capacity within an offshore maintenance environment. Offshore experience, as well as experience developing structural monitoring systems is highly desirable. Moreover, you will have good project coordination skills and excellent communications skills, enabling you to create a professional relationship with your stakeholders.
