About the department

Epidemiology is part of Global Development and based in Søborg, Denmark. We are responsible for providing epidemiological evidence to development projects and launched products based on data and literature. We work closely together with a team of data scientists and have a broad collaboration with people with many different backgrounds across Novo Nordisk globally. You will be joining a team of highly professional, engaged and motivated epidemiologists of various backgrounds and experience.

 

The position

To meet the increasing number of new activities and initiatives within the real world setting, where epidemiological considerations are becoming more and more important, and to continuously improve ongoing activities, an expert epidemiologist will have an important role both within the team and towards the projects across Novo Nordisk. As an expert epidemiologist in Novo Nordisk you will apply your solid epidemiologic knowledge and skills to provide real world evidence from literature, real world data and observational studies. Our primary disease areas include diabetes, obesity, growth hormone deficiencies and haemophilia, with adjacent areas also in scope.

 

You will be performing and guiding on complex epidemiological activities across the projects and be important in developing the area further and in setting direction for epidemiology activities in Novo Nordisk. Also, you can be involved in supervising of less experienced colleagues. Moreover, you are responsible for communicating your results and findings in a clear and convincing way both orally and in various types of publications.

 

You will be responsible for providing epidemiologic evidence to a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation and externally. Your tasks and responsibilities will be varied and diverse within pharmaco- and classical epidemiology, including guidance on and review of study designs and analytical methods and conducting your own analyses based on real world data from either Novo Nordisk observational studies or from external commercial data sources.

 

Qualifications

We expect you to have a Master’s degree in public health, life sciences, biostatistics, engineering or equivalent and a PhD degree in a related field. You have several years of experience with extensive hands-on experience from the pharmaceutical, medical or biological area working with analytical epidemiological projects and real world data. Preferable, you have experience with pharmacoepidemiology and we expect you to have solid experience in working with statistical programming (for instance in SAS). Knowledge of human biology in general is a must, and excellent writing and oral communication skills are important.
