Would you like to support international and domestic transportation activities for Vestas production, sales, and service business units across the world? Would you like to be responsible for the execution of sourcing/procurement strategies for category's imbedded in both global and regional strategies and to support Vestas regional strategy development for non-owned categories?

Then you might be our new Purchaser in Global Procurement.

Global Procurement > Indirect > Transport

The Transport Procurement team consists of a global team of managers, covering the following categories: Project Transport - vessel chartering, road & rail transport of oversized components, Port handling and General transport- Ocean, Air, overland road and Express/courier services. Each of the functions support international and domestic transportation activities for Vestas Manufacturing, Sales, Services and the Supply chain organization.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will be to:

SUPPLY/DEMAND ASSESSMENT & PLANNING:

• Identify business requirements/internal demand (short and long term)
• Research and develop supply market and assess supply risks and opportunities
• Perform spend/TCO analysis
• Develop, lead, and manage the process of vendor identification & qualification
• Ensure supplier capabilities/capacity match business requirements including establishment of contingency plans
• Ensure suppliers are, at all times, fully compliant with local laws & regulations and Vestas Safety & Code of Conduct policies
• Execute competitive reviews of existing supplier base, analyze existing contracts

PROCESS & EXECUTION

• Negotiate transport prices and establish contracts with transport vendors and negotiate road transportation and port operation contracts, as well as frame agreements for trucking companies and port handling company's
• Collect detailed specification of services required for projects/tenders.
• Review, evaluate, negotiate, and select suppliers and develop solid negotiation strategies
• Build and maintain linkages between procurement and the business units
• Prepare decision papers based on facts in a quality needed to support management decisions.

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT & EXECUTION

• Lead the contracting phase according to company guidelines including internal customer communication
• Manage & maintain contracts, be the go to person for all contract related issues for the category
• Manage ramp down of expiring contracts, mid-term evaluations/negotiations, and renewals

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT

• Develop and maintain supplier performance programs covering safety, quality, cost, and service level including KPIs, benchmarking/indexing, and recognition programs
• Conduct supplier performance reviews, develop improvement plans
• Carry out and maintain vigorous audit programs in line with Vestas policies

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

• Communication and relationship development with senior global, regional, and local stakeholders
• Provide direction and leadership on transportation sourcing strategies and execution to regional and supply chain executives

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in business related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of transportation and logistics experience
