Danfoss Cooling division, Electronic Controllers & Services is searching for a Project Portfolio Manager for a new position due to an increased complexity and high demands from our customers.  In this position, you will be involved in end-to-end product flow and processes. It will be your responsibility to drive the overall portfolio progress and handle potential issues by involving functional management and escalations to business unit management.

Great responsibility in a quickly growing and technical BU
In this position, you will be the owner of a broad range of portfolio projects and you must be able to effectively overcome various “road blocks”. You will prioritize portfolio of backlog projects for each Product Team and schedule project execution according to each team’s resource allocation strategy. In addition, you will conduct buffer recovery efforts when necessary to bring projects in on-time. To do so, you need to analyze project results and lead regular continuous improvement sessions with Functional Managers and Project Leaders.

As you will be part of a truly global company you will communicate with stakeholders at all levels, where you will take the lead making things happen. Your responsibilities will include:

Portfolio management level: 

• Lead regular sessions with the Project Leaders and Functional Managers to review problem spots in the portfolio that need management attention.
• Analyze each Product Team’s expected resource needs and recommend resource reassignments or additions to meet future requirements or changes in strategy.
• Monitor shared resource capacity utilization to resolve priority issues across Product Teams.
• Report on portfolio performance according to stated objectives, goals and KPI’s.

Project execution level:

• Lead project timeline evaluation and replanning efforts required by customer changes in project scope.
• Ensure that the Exepron Project Management Dashboard provides useful information to management by enforcing project management policies and procedures, including regular task updating and working to a single priority.
• Train Project Leaders to understand the principles of Critical Chain Project Management.
• Upon project completion assess and report on project delivery in alignment with the project charter (CRS), stated objectives and goals.

Solid stakeholder and network skills and project management experience
There is more than one way into this position, but for you to be able to handle the challenges in this job, we expect you to have work experience within project management, and you are expected to hold a relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Management or equivalent. To be successful, you possess a high level of energy and drive. You work persistently to achieve your goals, and you possess the necessary cooperation skills to develop solid relations, both internally and externally.

On a personal level, you are pro-active with a high drive and hold strong influencing and motivational skills. You have strong analytical skills and a good understanding of complex end-to-end processes across different functions, which enables you to find the right solutions. You are known as a team player and at the same time, you can work independently. Since we work across cultures and geography in a global matrix organization, it is a necessity that you master English both written and spoken.
