The position as Product Manager, Machine Control Hardware is situated in our very modern facilities alongside our R&D, Sales and Business Development, and you interface with colleagues in many other countries. Key responsibilities As our Product Manager, Machine Control Hardware, your main focus will be on defining and implementing a hardware product roadmap to address white spaces in our hardware portfolio. You will be responsible for working closely with PMO colleagues as well as selling unit colleagues to ensure our hardware portfolio addresses the segments we address in our divisional and departmental strategies. Your tasks will include the following: • Manage and coordinate activities which affect our hardware portfolio of products, specifically the main components used in our solutions (e.g. panels, cradles, sensors) • Work closely with Product Management Organization (PMO) colleagues to understand the needs of each solution • Along with relevant Program Managers and PMO Director, maintain a prioritized list of hardware requirements and facilitate discussions to update prioritizations accordingly •Research competitive climate to understand competitive hardware morphology, in order to betterposition our own hardware portfolio enabling our selling units to enjoy a competitive advantage •Ensure full compliance with Hexagon Innovation Process (HIP) with regards to hardware projects •Exert clear ownership with regards to hardware innovation projects, from Innovation Justification (IJ)through to Project End (PEN) milestones either by direct or indirect involvement in the projects •Manage phase in/phase out process actively, insuring obsolete or replaced products are removed frominventory and new product introduction is done seamlessly •Manage hardware components through the LCM (Life Cycle Maintenance) process •Stay informed of new technology trends in the market place •Keep third party system integrators that incorporate Leica hardware into their solutions, informed ofupdates, product obsolescence, and new product introduction •Responsible for product definition: Including writing business plan documents, requirements forengineering, and all other relevant documentation as required within the HIP •Assist and maintain a strong connection to OEM department to understand heavy equipmentmanufacturers’ trends and develop roadmaps accordingly, and bring this information into his/herproduct roadmap.
