If so, you could be our new Power Electronics Engineer to join our team. Vestas Technology & Service Solutions, Nacelle Power & Handling, Electrical Power & Control, Converter Electrical Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is where new product ideas or technologies are matured, developed, tested and improved. To put it short, Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. We are shaping the future of modern energy. The Converter Electrical & High Voltage department is part of Vestas R&D organization Technology & Service Solutions. The department is an essential contributor in making the current and future wind turbines more efficient and cost effective by developing the electrical power conversion components as power stack (power electronics), transformer and switchgear. This is done by being responsible for development and maintenance of the components according to the full value chain requirements. All Vestas products are based on internally developed converters since electrical power conversion is at the core of how a wind turbine performs, operates and interacts with the electrical grid. With an engineering background in power conversion your main role will be to participate in and drive the design of the power electronics in our converter. The daily work will be within a broad network of stakeholders and together with the electrical specialists you will set the standard for tomorrows design. You will be a part of the power electronic team within the Converter Electrical & High Voltage department. The department consists of 15 highly skilled designers and specialists located in Aarhus. Responsibilities: As Lead Engineer in Power Conversion, you will be a part of the Power Electronics team and report to the Converter Electrical & High Voltage Manager within Electrical Power & Control. Your main responsibilities and tasks will be: Create and keep the overview of quality of electrical products in field. Analysis and design of power electronic converter systems. Selection and design of filters for grid connected power converters. Create Design Verification Plans/Procedures and conduct tests for design validation. Influence and drive solutions based on International standards and requirements. Set targets for how to qualify power components. Establishment of predicted failure rates for proposed designs. Establish Critical To Quality’s for principal components. Supplier quality evaluation metrics. Technology scouting for reliability improvements. Review engineering designs. Qualifications: Your qualifications include: A bachelor/master in a relevant area, i.e. power electronics, electrical engineering. Minimum of 3 years of working experience as an electrical engineer. Experience from power electronics design. Experience in working with reliability and verification. Good communication skills. Experienced in project execution in matrix organization.
