We are looking for a talented candidate with interest, high motivation and experience in biostatistics and diabetes modelling for a postdoctoral fellowship. The successful candidate will work in the newly started innovation consortium, Hypo-RESOLVE (Hypoglycaemia: REdefining SOLutions for better liVEs).

About the project
The Hypo-RESOLVE partnership will run for the coming 4 years. It is the first time Novo Nordisk is sponsoring an innovation consortium of this size together with other major players in the diabetes market: Sanofi and Eli Lilly, Medtronic and Abbott as well as 14 universities and 4 patient organisations. The position
The postdoc fellow will be employed at Novo Nordisk and will be based at King’s College in London (UK) with a working stay at Novo Nordisk Denmark, and with an option for visits or a shorter stay with other partners within the innovation consortium.

As a postdoc you will work on a clinical study being performed as part of the Hypo-RESOLVE program, which will aim to understand the biological, patient reported and health economic impact of hypoglycaemia detected by continuous glucose monitoring [CGM]. You will work with the PI Dr Pratik Choudhary and help develop the statistical analysis plan and trial database for this study as well as lead the analysis and interpretation of these data to provide new insights into the impact of hypoglycaemia.

Qualifications
The candidate is expected to have finished his PhD in an area linked with Life Sciences, Statistics and/or Data Modelling. Some experience with either clinical trial data or work with diabetes data is essential and it is desirable to have experience working with either hypoglycaemia or continuous glucose monitoring data. The successful candidate will have excellent speaking and writing skills in English and be a good communicator and self-driven. The candidate will need to be prepared to travel between work sites and able to work in either Denmark or London as per the demands of the project.

The candidate will be part of the Novo Nordisk fellowship community, work closely with other postdocs from Novo Nordisk and will have supervisors from both King’s College and Novo Nordisk.

This group has a particular interest in hypoglycaemia, with research interests including the use of neuroimaging to understand central mechanisms of hypoglycaemia unawareness and development of novel educational [DAFNE and DAFNEplus], psychological [HARPdoc] and technological interventions such as continuous glucose monitoring [CGM] and insulin pumps to try and reduce hypoglycaemia.
