In a project financed by the NovoNordic Synergy program we aim at developing and demonstrate the potential of integrating new enzymatic degraders and protein based scavengers in municipal wastewater treatment with particular focus on degrading persistent contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) and their toxic transformation products and to scavenge Pi. Successful outcome of the project requires the combined skill of the participating groups including advanced quantum mechanical calculations, enzyme characterization and recombinant production and purification of challenging proteins. In addition to Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen the project involves researchers from the Technical University of Denmark and University of Maribor, Slovenia.
The postdoc’s duties will include research within molecular biology and protein chemistry. It is an advantage if the postdoc has experience with yeast fermentation, production of recombinant proteins in yeast, purification of challenging proteins by IMAC and other chromatographic techniques as well as teaching. The postdoc may also include performance of other duties.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

The starting salary is currently up to DKK 430.570 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 73.627). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
