Job Description Do you have experience within BMS and PLC control systems and are you used to work in a GMP regulated environment? Biogen Idec is the world’s oldest independent biotech company with one of the most exciting manufacturing sites in Denmark. Due to the rabbit expansion of our site we need an experienced Automation Engineer to manage our ongoing building automation and PLC projects and ensure that our systems and documentation are up to date and in compliance with our GMP Quality standards. In this role you will also take part of the daily operation, support, trouble shooting and actual implementation of new projects. Department The Maintenance department includes a small Automation group that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Building Management System (BMS) and Validated Data System (VDS) as well as several standalone PLC control systems. The Building Management System controls the HVAC systems and other Utility Systems such as the Boiler and Cooling plant. The Validated Data System collects data and monitor alarms from the GMP critical systems. The VDS/BMS system is a DCS system, TAC Vista, consisting of several servers and distributed logic controllers. The group also supports many Standalone PLC systems mainly based on Siemens and Allen Bradley. You will join a team of 10 dedicated colleagues and report to the Manager for the Maintenance, Plant Eng. The team also makes use of contractors to perform several of our tasks. Your main responsibilities will be: • Lead/support the daily operation of Maintenance systems in our Maintenance Automation group • Manage planning and implementation of continues incoming projects in cooperation with our customers (Utility, Manufacturing, Project Engineering) • Participate in project meetings with our customers to ensure correct definition of User Requirements and optimal implementation of projects • Participate in continual system improvement programs as required. • Support commissioning and qualification activities as required. • Interface with end users of the system and implement necessary changes to improve system’s overall efficiency. • Ensure systems and associated documentation maintains their validated states. • In cooperation with the QA department manage Change Control, CAPA and Deviations in our GMP Trackvise system in cooperation with our Quality department. *LI-DEN2 JIX1 Location Denmark-Hillerod Job Category Manufacturing Requisition Number 24523BR Qualifications Professional qualifications: • A bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent degree • Minimum 7 years hands on experience within BMS/DCS systems (preferably TAC Vista) and PLC control systems • Experience with validation and GMP regulations applicable to automated systems in the Pharmaceutical industry is a must • Comfortable and experienced with management of several simultaneously ongoing projects. • Good in writing documentation and procedures that comply with GMP requirements • Fluently in English both verbal and in writing.
