Applications for a PhD position regarding the development of a highly sensitive cancer genetic analysis system are invited. DTU Nanotech is the host of the PhD study. DTU Nanotech is a cross diciplinary department with all the necessary infrastructure to host cross diciplinary research efforts. Responsibilities and tasks The PhD student will be developing micro systems for single molecule analysis targeted towards cancer diagnostics. The successful canditate has a background in micro- and nano fabrication complemented with knowledge about biological systems. It is an advantage if the candidate has experience with droplet microfluidics, polymer chip fabrication, signal processing and data analysis. The PhD student is expected to take a minor part in teaching and dissemination. Qualifications Candidates should have a master's degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering. Approval and Enrolment The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. Salary and appointment terms The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The period of employment is 3 years. Workplace The main work will be done at DTU Nanotech but a 3-6 month foreign stay is an expected part of the PhD study.
