Location DK - Smørum Patent Attorney Would you like to become a partner in our group of Patent Attorneys advising project teams on IP issues? Would responsibility for your own international patent portfolio motivate you? Then we have a challenging job waiting for you at our headquarters in Smørum. Responsibility for international patent portfolio You will join William Demant’s IP team, which presently comprises seven members. The team’s primary task is to ensure that our companies launch products with the lowest possible risk of infringing third party rights. The team’s members must therefore participate as advisors for product development activities and make sure that stakeholders continually are on notice regarding the various risks arising from the use of different technologies. The team is also responsible for protecting our companies’ ideas by filing patent applications and by prosecuting these to issuance of patents before the various relevant authorities. Your tasks will be to: Participate as partner in the Patent Attorneys group and be a part of a common knowledge bank (both on technology and on patent law) Advise project teams on IP issues and keep stakeholders informed about potential risks developments may be facing Manage an international patent portfolio and ensure the issuance of patents Contribute to the growth of an international patent portfolio by participating actively in the preparation of new patent applications and by participating in the handling of incoming ideas Participate in oppositions against competitors’ patents. Solid business understanding You have an educational background as Engineer, B.Sc.E, M.Sc.E, M.Sc., or Ph.D., ideally supplemented with parts of European Qualifying Examination for European Patent Attorneys, or other national qualifying courses within IP. You have some years of experience within IP – possibly from practicing in the industry. Your technical knowledge must include physics, mechanics, electronics or medical devices. As a person, you have sharpened analytical skills and you are able to quickly learning new areas. In your work with IP, you have an eye for detail, and at the same time, you are able to maintain and communicate a coordinated overview of the patent portfolio. You are structured and systematic and have a good business understanding. You are fluent in English, and an efficiency in reading German and French will be an advantage.
