For our Offshore (OF) department, we are looking for a Siting Engineer to support Customer Order Engineering (COE). In this role, you will support mainly Sales in siting support for offshore projects. What are my responsibilities? As an Offshore Siting Engineer, your responsibilities will cover: • Performing evaluation of wind farm site conditions (wind climate, metocean conditions etc.) • Performing site suitability studies of offshore wind farms • Micrositing offshore wind farms layouts with respect to the offshore conditions • Calculating potential level of energy under specific conditions, clarifying technical and environmental risks • Developing and test state of the art tools and develop new methods for offshore siting • Knowledge on performance tests What do I need to qualify for this job? • You have a relevant engineering background (mechanical, energy, fluid mechanics) • You have minimum 5 years of experience with siting work and have knowledge of the methods, physics and tools used for the tasks • You must be able to work on your own and find solutions for problems for the projects that occur during the assessments • You are an result and quality oriented team player with strong analytical skills who likes technical challenges • You must understand the physics of siting related work, so “thinking out of the box” should be natural for you • Additionally, you are a strong communicator with a high degree of intercultural awareness, positive spirit, mind set and engagement towards problem solving • You are familiar with software programs such as: WindPro, WAsP, WEng or Fuga • Finally, you possess excellent English skills, both orally and in writing Furthermore, The Offshore Siting Engineer will be trained in Siemens siting concepts and methods. In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated. What else do I need to know?
