Description We are looking for a Material Engineer to further develop our competences within validation and reliability testing. To succeed in this position you are a dedicated person who in close cooperation with our different engineering departments is able to ensure the right quality of the product we bring to the market. Vestas Technology & Service Solutions A/S, Electro-Mechanical Validation & Reliability Electro-Mechanical Validation & Reliability is a part of Technology & Service Solutions in Vestas Wind Systems A/S, with the responsibility to validate the design of electrical and mechanical systems and components used in our wind turbines. We service the whole Vestas organization with our specialized knowledge and extensive capabilities within material, vibration, climatic, HALT and EMC testing. The department consists of a team of engineers and test technicians and is located at the Technology & Service Solutions headquarters in Skejby, Aarhus. Our activities increase the reliability of our turbines; producing more clean energy with fewer service intervals creating more value for our customers. Responsibilities: You will be involved in both new development projects and continuous improvement projects in your daily work. You will have a key role in our Material Laboratory activities and with your specialized knowledge you will ensure the quality of our validation activities. You will maintain contacts all across Vestas which require that you as a person are outgoing and pro-active. You are able to handle many projects at the same time and in different phases. Specific tasks: Perform material analysis and failure analysis Instruct technician Coordinate external analysis Create and maintain standard operating procedures for the laboratory Support designers and engineers in terms of material knowledge (specifications, root cause analysis, design, etc.) Support writing of material specifications and component specifications Qualifications: A Bachelor or Master degree in Metallurgical, Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials or materials testing Preferred experience with failure analysis Preferred experience with Scanning Electron Microscopy Experience from industries with products able to withstanding harsh environment, exposed to wind, rain, salt, water, heat and cold.
