You master the art of long distance management which allows you to head a team of approximately 20 dedicated Field Engineers who are constantly travelling around the world to service projects in the installation and commissioning phase. Detailed Description Staff global projects As Manager of Site Services and Safety, you will make sure we that we – at all times – have qualified Field Engineers available for our projects around the world. As part of FLSmidth Airtech, you will join our mission of designing and supplying air pollution control equipment for the global cement and minerals industries. This entails considerable travel activity as you help and support your people in the field, but the key to your succes will be effective long distance leadership. As such, you make sure: · To employ, develop and motivate qualified professionals · That knowledge sharing takes place between the Field Engineers and towards the Engineering Departments · That site administration and reporting are done according to our standards · To collaborate and confer with the project managers that your Field Engineers will be reporting to when working on a project. This includes visiting sites regularly to follow up with your employees and to evaluate site conditions · That safety compliance is a cultural backbone and that all Field Engineers have undergone the necessary training to live up to all safety standards on site. Job Requirements Technical savvy and excellent people motivator · You are an engineer or have a similar technical background. This is important as you will need to understand, help and advise your Field Engineers · You have previously worked on site on industrial plants · Experience with people management is a must. Long distance leadership experience would be a definite plus · You speak and write English fluently. As a person, you are structured and have strong communication and leadership skills. This is imperative as you keep up with the projects and your people around the world, and you understand how to motivate others to perform. At the same time, you posses cultural awareness and sensitivity, enabling you to facilitate cooperation and progress at different sites in different countries as we operate in a very diverse and international environment.
