Technology & Service Solutions is the business unit for research and development of wind turbines. The Loads, Acoustics and Controls team is responsible for design and implementation of the controllers handling the production and loading of the turbine. This also involves high fidelity simulation of the turbine power production, the noise performance and the design loads. The tools team develops advanced software tools to support an effective and flaw free development process for the turbine layout and control solution. The team is in a close collaboration with the other teams responsible for the design of the different wind turbine components and the release of controller software. Responsibilities: The responsibility related to the position is to develop software tools to aid the design and tuning of the control features and to document turbine performance. This involves maintenance and development of the in-house developed aeroelastic simulation tool, the associated multi CPU execution set-up and a wide range of tools for processing simulation data. The tool set-up also includes automated generation of code for the turbine control system from the Simulink models. Finally, it covers integration of the controllers with the aeroelastic simulations. Qualifications: We are looking for a candidate with the following background: •BSc or MSc in software design, mechanical or electrical engineering •Strong theoretical knowledge in controller design or aeroelastic and electromechanical simulation •Comprehensive experience from design of software •Experience with one or more of the following subjects is desired: rotor design, control systems, hydraulic systems or wind turbine power conversion systems •One or more of the following computer skills: Matlab, Simulink, Delphi, CSharp, C++, Python Competencies: Moreover, the below abilities are needed: •Problem solving oriented •Self-driven to deliver well proven and well documented solutions. •Team player •Good English language skills both oral and in writing.
