About the department
We are approximately 30 employees in the R&D department consisting of principal scientists, chemists and laboratory technicians. You will become laboratory technician for the "Resin R&D team" which consists of 10 dedicated and talented employees. The team consists of both chemists and laboratory technicians. The core expertise of the team lies in development and preparation of chromatographic resins to improve current processes and solve new challenges. The team is about to establish capabilities within downstream purification of enzymes in laboratory scale. We work in close collaboration with our scientific colleagues at Novo Nordisk to develop optimal purification solutions for new and existing medicines to improve our patient’s lives. The atmosphere is relaxed and creative and we always strive to improve the way we do things.
The job
Your key responsibilities will be to work as part of the team on enzymatic downstream development projects. You will play an essential role in establishing enzymatic downstream purification capabilities in laboratory scale, such as chromatography on Äkta systems, refolding and activation reactions, as well as cross-flow filtration. You will carry out daily planning of your work, perform analysis and evaluate result. You will record and report your scientific work and share your learnings with the team, project teams and other colleagues. You will work closely together with other laboratory technicians and research scientists within the team and the department.
Qualifications
Educated as a laboratory technician (laborant), ideally with at least 5 years’ experience within downstream purification of proteins and/or enzymes. You have experience with preparative chromatography and preferably super user of ÄKTA systems and Unicorn software. You are a strong team player with a good understanding of the chemical sciences. You have good attention to detail and are conscious of working safety in the lab. You are dynamic, flexible and able to cope with change, dedicated to ‘making a difference’ and ready to ‘go the extra mile’ when faced with challenges.
