About the department Corporate Accounting is part of CAS (Corporate Accounting Services), a unit in Corporate Finance at Novo Nordisk. Corporate Accounting consist of ten employees, divided into two teams; Team Consolidation and Team External Reporting. The department comprises of ten dedicated and highly skilled employees to enforce the Novo Nordisk group accounting policies and practices with no surprises. Responsible for utilizing our center of excellence within accounting in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRSs”), consolidation and closing processes, production and inventory valuation and accounting, preparation of the Novo Nordisk Annual Report, financial statements and US Form 20-F filing in a way that provides most value to Novo Nordisk. The goal for the department is to “be ahead of compliance” by proactively be in the forefront of all changes in the accounting environment as well as in the business of Novo Nordisk. The job You will be involved in the implementation of new accounting standards and XBRL, including optimisation of reporting processes, and you will also participate in or be the project manager of cross-functional projects in close cooperation with other finance units throughout our corporate and global organisation. You will be part of a dynamic team of external accounting specialists responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting to top management - with the opportunity of developing a broad spectrum of finance skills and of gaining extensive knowledge of the business. This will position you for a number of global career opportunities within accounting and finance in the Novo Nordisk organisation. The team is the process owner of a number of key finance processes such as preparation of external financial reporting on a quarterly and annually basis, including ensuring efficient and accurate financial reporting in accordance with Novo Nordisk's accounting policy and IFRS. You will work as in-house business partner on accounting issues guiding financial managers in affiliates throughout the world and ensure cross-functional control and reporting of specific accounting areas. Maintaining the Novo Nordisk accounting manual and assessing impact from new IFRSs and implementing these into corporate accounting policies is done in close dialogue with operational units ensuring a strong business understanding in our team. We also aim to influence the development in IFRS and Danish accounting legislation through comments on exposure drafts and new legislation drafts The team continuously work on optimisation and controlling of processes aiming to improve performance and results. Because we aim to be true business partners by linking finance with business development, we expect you to invest significant time and effort in understanding the business environment in which Novo Nordisk operates. Qualifications We are looking for an experienced accounting specialist or auditor with solid knowledge of IFRS, who have a minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in a similar position or as an auditor dealing with IFRS compliance. Most likely, you have a qualification as State Authorised Public Accountant or similar or you hold a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics. Furthermore, you have strong analytical skills, a proactive and engaging personality showing strong responsibility for tasks and projects. Combined with your strong communication skills and good sense of humour, these traits allow you to contribute proactively to our team with ideas and initiatives.
