The Offshore Hazardous Energy team plays a key role in relation to ensure operational electrical safety on all our offshore construction sites and at the same time contribute with experience and knowledge in electrical design and logistic planning all the way from project acquisition to final hand over to our customers. We master the details and, at the same time, we bridge tomorrow’s technologies and methodologies.

We seek a new colleague to strengthen and develop our High Voltage profile. The goal is to provide excellent support to our design engineers, project managers and site management leading to best in class customer satisfaction.

 

Approximately 130 travel days a year are to be expected in the role.

 

What are my responsibilities? 

  • As a high voltage engineer / specialist, you are responsible for providing specialized operational technical support and ensure an MV/HV management and supervision system is in place from the early beginning of the project and until completion of execution phase. You will be involved in back office as well as front line activities finding solutions together with the project manager and ensure the highest possible technical and operational safety level for the project specific high voltage scope. In the execution phase, you will take part in the construction projects’ high voltage activities utilizing your strong operational focused skills and project mind-set.

  • Project support combined with the operational responsibility for the high voltage systems
  • Verify configuration and test documentation of MV/HV equipment
  • Supervision of 3rd party HV contractors
  • Review of work instructions and checklists for MV/HV work and tests
  • Create and review risk assessments and method statements
  • Support project and site management in planning of MV/HV setup
  • Providing specialized, technical support and troubleshooting in relation to MV/HV equipment
  • Support electrical engineering and sales department
  • Maintain and develop the global HV management system into new markets
  • Act as the Hazardous Energy team’s delegated operational responsible for MV/HV activities
  • Prepare or review switching schedules for maintenance tasks, installation work, fault location and repair on high voltage networks where required
  • Maintain own competence in accordance with legislative changes and customer requirements
  • Plan outages and produce switching programmes and liaise with System Control
  • Make dead, isolate and earth high voltage electrical networks
  • Participate in necessary schemes to provide 24/7 cover 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • B.Sc.EE (power systems) or M.Sc.EE (power systems) or similar qualifications combined with +3 years of relevant electro technical experience from the wind turbine business or from the offshore, grid operator, power plant, consultancy, manufacturing or construction industries or similar
  • Preferably, you have experience from international projects and various cultures. You possess strong technical and management skills within the electro technical area, and in parallel your perspective is broad and open-minded
  • It is essential that your mind-set is project oriented, still with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Your personality is characterized as positive, proactive and self-driven enabling you to work with colleagues from multiple cultures in a project oriented environment
  • As a minimum, you possess good communication skills in English, orally and in writing. Danish and / or German would be a further advance
