As Game Client Architect at MovieStarPlanet you will: •Develop, maintain and communicate the vision for the client side architecture in close collaboration with each of our cross-disciplinary teams •Spearhead the visualization of the architecture, making it easy to understand for all developers •Assist our cross-disciplinary teams on a daily basis to develop and maintain their own technical and architectural visions, sparring with experienced seniors and assisting and mentoring talented juniors •Produce high-level architectural concepts for new features and provide rough estimates for their development About the Job Develop technical goals and visions At MovieStarPlanet we use one of the leading cross-platform technologies for Mobile Game Development, Adobe AIR, to develop our games on iOS, Android and Kindle. Our games are highly interactive, social and creative and offer many forms of entertainment, such as customizable, animated avatars, mini-games and home-made videos. We strive to continuously develop our games to be the best, with new, fun and engaging features for our kids. The MovieStarPlanet game is developed on 4 different cross-disciplinary teams. Your main task will be to help the programmers on those teams develop the game architecture. To help them see the technical goals beyond their individual tasks, while also allowing for their independence and autonomy. Collaborating with the Lead Programmer and Team Leads, you will help your peers master the Agile balance of iterative development versus maintaining an overall technical vision and big picture. We believe that all Architects must also be coders, so you will use around half your time coding in AS3, creating and improving shared structures to improve the core architecture and performance of our clients. You will not be expected to know the details of every nook and crook of our systems, but to bring together the specialists you work with, utilizing the strengths of each to the fullest. As Game Client Architect you report to the Lead Programmer. About You •At least 5 years of development experience •At least 3 years of experience of Object Oriented designing and development •At least 3 years of experience with either AS3, Java or C# •Expert knowledge of Design Patterns •Thorough understanding of memory management and optimization techniques •Experience collaborating in a SCRUM environment with minimal supervision •You have excellent communication skills •Your English skills are excellent - verbally and in writing The following would also be a plus: •You hold a M.Sc. in Computer Science or similar degree within software development •Experience with test-driven development •Applied knowledge of Network monitoring tools You are highly self-motivated and enthusiastic, both when it comes to solving complex problems, learning about new technology, building the best solution and communicating your ideas. At the same time, you really like working with other skilled developers, exchanging ideas with seniors and mentoring juniors, always respecting the viewpoint of others. You can foresee and identify issues, both local and across platforms, and can collaborate in working out their solutions. You always strive for the best quality, and take personal pride in developing a stable client with zero tolerance for errors. You have a knack for explaining complex concepts in a simple way and can communicate smoothly across departments. Agile is your absolute preferred way of life and you favor direct communication, over checkboxes. At the same time, you will never execute a tedious task twice if you can build a script to do it.
