Do you have a passion for producing high quality code that makes a difference for soldiers in critical situations? Can you solve complex tasks in a large code base? Do you have product development experience?

Your code will help soldiers to work together
As a fullstack developer, you’ll be helping our many users do their work even better, enabling them to save lives. In other words, you’ll become an important player in the day-to-day work of a component team developing the SitaWare Headquarters product for our customers worldwide. The product helps soldiers build a solid understanding of the field so that they can work together in complex conditions and make decisive tactical decisions. You are responsible for developing new high quality features that are easy for other developers to maintain and understand, enabling us to deliver the best solutions. You will work with 55 talented colleagues in the department and be part of a smaller component team with colleagues with different backgrounds and profiles. The component team is close-knit and responsible for a smaller part of the overall solution for the customer.

Your duties include:

• developing high quality code
• solving tasks in a large code base spanning a range of different technologies
• designing, breaking down, and estimating features
• developing features that have a focus on ensuring that they fulfil customer needs, quality goals, and schedules
• systematically improving the existing code base to improve quality and create better modularisation and increased testability in order to become even better in providing continuous deliveries.

The job involves travelling to our office in Romania once or twice a year.

Experienced team player and developer
You will have a background in computer science, engineering, or similar. Most importantly, you must have at least five years of experience as a developer. In your day-to-day work you are a team player who is adept at bringing your experience, opinions, and solutions to the table to ensure the best possible quality and fulfil the user’s needs. In addition, product development experience is a bonus, as is experience in code quality, automated testing, security, performance, maintenance, development environments, or continuous delivery.

Furthermore, we expect you to:

• be passionate about being part of a highly qualified team in which you learn something new every day
• be at the top of your game in several of the following technologies: Scala, Java, JavaEE, Wildfly, AngularJS, or Typescript
• seek out co-operation, to ensure that your team achieves better results
• be able to familiarise yourself with complex issues and to pride yourself in understanding complex solutions and customer challenges
• be motivated by your own and your colleagues’ improvement and development.

In addition, we expect you to be fluent in written and spoken English.
