The Project Management Office (PMO) consists of a team of 17 Project Managers with reference to the director position. The project managers operate across Technology & Service Solutions (TSS) with interface and cooperation with the entire Vestas value chain. The project managers are located in Denmark and India. The entire Project Management organisation consists of 3 sub department including Project Managers and Senior Project Managers located in Denmark, UK, India and US. The total number of people within the area is 40. The PMO assigns project managers to Platform projects, Technology projects and Option projects mainly in relation to functional areas like Nacelle engineering, Power Conversion, Handling Solutions and Industrialization within TSS. The projects will be driven in cooperation with manufacturing, global sourcing and other PMO functions. The team will also handle projects outside this area. Projects are led and executed from initiation phase by drawing up the business case and all the way through development to the finished product is released to market. Responsibilities: As Director for PMO you will report to the Vice President and be part of the PMO management team. Together with the PMO management team you will drive optimization and standardization of project management methodology across Vestas based on department strategy and capacity. Your main responsibilities and tasks: Deliver qualified project manager resources to the organisation that deliver high performance within project management skills and with a high level of business understanding and leadership behaviour Manage and coach the team of 17 project managers Negotiate resources and project governance with Vice Presidents/Directors from functional areas Review and assist the line organisation in development of project initiation, project progress and status, gate material and business cases Develop competencies of individual project managers including ensure follow up and personal feedback regarding target setting and performance Develop and optimize the PMO function, including tools and processes for project and portfolio execution Negotiate department budget and timing of activities in the department Qualifications: The position requires people management skills and experience, as well as business understanding. It is vital that the person in this position can communicate clearly to people on all levels in the organisation. And naturally the position needs a large amount of experience with project management. We see the ideal candidate possessing following: You have proven experience within project management and project execution using Prince2 principles and Stage Gate Model philosophy You have solid experience in managing teams or departments in international organisations You have strong business acumen as well as customer and market understanding You have a strong personality and possess cross functional leadership skills that secure the build-up of commitment and trustworthy relationships with internal and external partners in a global environment You have a proactive and extrovert personality and can lead your surroundings with your good communication skills You have a proven record in change management, and can motivate employees through a transition You possess strong English language skills Additional information: Your work location will be at Vestas Technology & Service Solutions Headquarter in Aarhus, Denmark.
