Developers to implement the IT infrastructure for Personalised Medicine for Data Center East

We are looking for full-time developers to join the research unit CHIP at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, to implement the IT architecture for Data Center East as part of the infrastructure for Personalised Medicine in Eastern Denmark.   

Personalised Medicine in Eastern Denmark is an initiative between Region Hovedstaden (RegH), Region Sjælland (RegSJ), Københavns Universitet (KU) and Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) with the purpose to implement an infrastructure for Personalised Medicine in Eastern Denmark. 

The infrastructure consists of three centers: Genome Center, Data Center and Biobank Center.     

Personalized Medicine is a paradigm shift and will be essential in the development of the future Health Care System. More precise diagnosis and personalised treatment offerings is expected to lead to more effective and safer treatments options, better treatment results, and higher quality of life.     

The PERSIMUNE multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence was established as part of CHIP in 2015 and has developed the necessary technologies to import, process, and expose real time health care data for research and clinical purposes. Due to the success of the PERSIMUNE center, CHIP has been chosen in collaboration with Region Sjælland to take the lead in establishing Data Center East.     

We are looking for full-time developers to transform the current PERSIMUNE set-up into a professional operational upscaled set-up for the East Danish population. Your role will be to design, develop, test, and deploy the code required to establish the IT infrastructure for Data Center East based on the existing PERSIMUNE setup.   

You will be part of an inspirational scientific team and a groundbreaking and exciting initiative within Personalised Medicine, all for the benefit of the current and future patients.     

Specific tasks and responsibilities:   

• Gain understanding of the code behind the structure, functionalities and processes of the existing PERSIMUNE data infrastructure   
• Help design the IT-infrastructure for Data Center East in collaboration with the IT architect and relevant stakeholders   
• Implement an end-to-end robust data flow including:  
  • Ingestion of data from multiple and changing data sources   
  • Data modelling (3rd normal form and/or dimensional) 
  • Data delivery to end users 
  • Operational aspects and systems administration 
  • Quality assurance and quality control

• Collaborate with CHIP-PERSIMUNE IT department and clinical stakeholders   
• Ensure adequate documentation processes adhering to guidelines and regulatory requirements.   

Qualifications:   

• Experience in implementation of databases/, database architecture, and data management 
• Solid experience working with SQL  
• Experience working as a developer 
• Knowledge of development lifecycle processes 
• Knowledge of data/information security standards is a plus 
• Proficiency in English both written and oral   
• Ability to collaborate with national and international stakeholders.

About CHIP:

CHIP – Centre of Excellence for Health, Immunity and Infections is a medical research organization focused on infectious diseases and immunology, including HIV and viral hepatitis, co-infections as well as public health research, development of guidelines and informing policy development. CHIP was founded in 1998 as a research section within the Department of Infectious Diseases at Hvidovre University Hospital, later moved to Rigshospitalet Department of Infectious Diseases (Copenhagen, Denmark). 

In 2013, awarded to WHO Collaborating Centre. More than 50 highly specialized academics are currently working at CHIP within medical research, public health research, IT and data management, statistics and bioinformatics, clinical trial management and research administration.     

Conditions:

The positions are full-time positions and are currently granted for a 2-year period. Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with current public agreements in the Capital Region of Denmark.
