Designing within patent constraints for one of the most awesome brands in the world demands an extremely creative approach. Are you game? Protect and work around new inventions In this new role, you will work with concept development of play experiences that bridge the physical with the digital - from early innovation through to execution, and across multiple projects. Here, it will be your goal to develop and protect new innovations as well as secure our freedom to operate by driving for innovation height. This involves a high degree of involvement in new development projects and at various phases of the projects. Your role includes: Developing and protecting new innovations in collaboration with the digital/physical design team Protecting new inventions by e.g. exploring alternative conceptual executions Visualising and recommending design solutions for optimal protection Working with Legal and Patent Attorneys in securing patent applications and patent defence Staying up-to-date on the changing patent landscape and experiences to ensure that our current and future experiences meet the innovation goals of the LEGO Group Safeguard the future of play You will join a company that is passionate about the impact of play and where we invite you to think both logically and creatively in everything you do. Designer with superb visualisation skills First and foremost, you are a skilled designer. And to have fun in this position, you are excited about inventing new toys, and how we can design and develop digital experiences for children within constraints. As a visual communicator and thinker, you are able to relate abstract definitions such as patent claims and descriptions to real-world products. This is a creative role, and to be a success, you: Most likely have +5 years of design experience combined with a few years of experience development, including patent work Must have worked with developing experiences and tech IP, which involves both patent protection and clearance work Are great at coming up with alternative designs in off-limits areas and you are motivated by the presence of boundaries to reach your goals in alternative ways Collaborate and communicate effortlessly in English Bringing it to life "Your colleagues have put hours of creative thinking into developing fun products that the kids love.
