Do you have the curiosity to dive deep and find hidden patterns? Would you like to see your best-in-class statistical and analytical capabilities materialize into marketing investments and product features?

 

momondo/KAYAK is looking for a person that has strong mathematical capabilities (MSc in mathematics, statistics, or economics) and can apply advanced statistical analysis on huge data sets. You have used common tools like R/Python and have experience with building SQL queries. Ideally you have solid business understanding, preferably e-commerce, with knowledge of website development and/or marketing in general. You are curious by nature and can explain complicated findings and are not afraid to propose changes to the existing.   

 

Ideally you have 3-5 year experience as an analyst, big data analyst or statistician in a related field, but newly grads with experience from student jobs are also welcome to apply.

 

You will be based in Copenhagen and work with global marketing and product teams located around the world.

 

Key-responsibilities

  • Take our modelling capabilities to the next level by using advanced analytical methods and machine learning solutions
  • Develop scenarios and identify best opportunities for our global marketing efforts
  • Analyze marketing effectiveness and performance across all channels and markets to optimize ROI
  • Take part in developing our in-house segmentation model further with user level metrics and predictions
  • Help marketers and developers to understand and act on user level insights, be part of building a personalized experience for every user.
  • Generate ideas and build data based product features
  • Take full ownership of smaller analysis projects
  • Be part of driving the Big Data strategy

 

Skills – must have

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills including asking the right questions to identify the root cause of an issue or causal relationship
  • Experience running SQL queries and analyses in a database solution with significant data volumes. Experience in data aggregation and transformations
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract a clear and concise story from the numbers
  • Willingness to take the initiative and ownership of projects from design to implementation
  • Advanced R and/or Python knowledge
  • Comfortable with English on Business level
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines
  • High energy, strong work ethic, willingness to do "whatever it takes" to get to the results
  • Mental flexibility, including ability to dive very deep into details of the data (e.g., to ensure data quality) but also ability to see the big picture and take smart shortcuts where appropriate
