Would you like to be a part of the development organization in the world’s biggest pump company? You will be specialized in developing world-class pump hydraulics for applications in drinking water, wells, boosting of water supply and circulation of water in industry and commercial buildings. Join us in the Mechanical Development function – more specifically the Pump Hydraulics department. We are 11 colleagues responsible for new hydraulic development in Grundfos, performing fluid flow simulations to develop and optimize new pump designs. You refer to Senior Manager Troels Jepsen. ”You become part of a highly skilled team of hydraulic and mechanical pump engineers responsible for developing robust pump designs optimized for the highest obtainable energy efficiency and manufacturing. The department is situated in Bjerringbro, but we collaborate closely with the global development organization and production sites all over the world, so you must expect up to 10 travel days per year,” Troels explains. What is the job about? As our new pump designer, you become responsible for the hydraulic design of new pump hydraulic components, such as impellers, pump housings and chambers. Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations and advanced tests, you will design, optimise, verify and document the performance of our hydraulic components and products. You will also take part in investigating, developing and maturing new, innovative hydraulic technologies, including new development methods and technologies like Robust Design and Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI). “In Grundfos, we have a relentless commitment to continuously improving our design, so if you truly understand the value and purpose of optimization, this is the job for you. You have a master´s degree or PhD in fluid mechanics combined with 3+ years of experience designing energy efficient products using CFD simulations and optimization. You are skilled within parametric CAD modeling, and any experience with Catia is an advantage. You have knowledge of production processes, e.g. casting, sheet metal and composite. You speak and write fluent English, and it is a plus, if you know Danish. “On a personal level, you are structured, and it is natural for you to methodically document your work. You put an effort into ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables, always keeping your eye on the final product. With your great interpersonal skills, you enjoy working directly with colleagues from many parts of the organisation,” Troels finishes.
