Within Vestas Power Solutions the design competences are part of the Engineering area, which has the full responsibility for designing the full wind turbine; that be everything from the drivetrain, nacelle structure, towers, the blades etc. Wind capture & Transport/handling is a part of Engineering and we have the responsibility of developing and designing blades, hub and furthermore securing state-of-the-art transport solutions. We do this with the mindset of 'accountability from cradle to grave'. For a department in the area responsible for the full rotor, we are looking for a highly qualified Manager with good business knowledge and understanding to join us.The rotor area consists of +60 highly skilled and motivated engineers mainly located in DK and UK, and we are growing our cooperation with our colleagues in Porto, Portugal and Chennai, India. Therefore, our leadership and way of operating is based on multi-cultural values ensuring openness, positive attitudes, quality in our daily work and room for differences. We value our team members to take ownership of their assignments and lead them until completion. Our mentality is to share good and bad experiences with our colleagues, so everyone learns from our individual achievements.ResponsibilitiesAs Manager you will typically be working with four main areas: Leadership, Development, Resource planning and Stakeholder management.

• Leadership.

You will be the daily Manager of +20 highly skilled and motivated development engineers + a varying number of consultants divided between to sites in UK and DK. You must ensure efficient execution of your project pipeline by Vestas leadership role model:Getting ahead: Take a proactive approach and secure that you are ready with the unexpected happens.  Getting along: Support your department and drive them to see the talent in every colleague they have.Getting things done: Don't accept good enough, thrive for excellence. It is your primary leadership responsibility to lead and guide your employees according to these standards. 

• Development

Ensure development of your department will be a vital part of your success. It is expected that you ensure continues development of your staff so they are capable of handling bigger and even more complicated projects in the future. Typical tasks could be:

• Ensure the employees are motivated and dedicated to do an extra effort 
• Support and drive business development
• Support that cross functional initiatives are implemented and knowledge shared 
• Support to value chain stakeholders
• Support to development of global footprint
• Actively search and identify improvement potential

• Resource planning

Resource planning for all employees in own manager area in cooperation with project managers and stakeholders. Your task will be to ensure that the right competences are available for the right job.

• Stakeholder management

Vestas is a global company that runs around the clock and to keep up you must balance your stakeholders demand for support. You will be involved in all the parts of the value chain and they will often look to you for guidance or support.   Qualifications

• Solid theoretical and practical knowledge people management in an engineering organization, +5 years
• Experience with business development and implementation of business processes
• Understanding of manufacturing and other parts of the value chain
• Understanding of the complexity of global presence
• Experience with multicultural communication
• Strong cooperative and accountability mindset

Further, it would be desirable if you have:

• Exposed to mentoring, DiSC, Team dynamic and development, Advanced level in English both in speech and in writing
