For our Main Bearing Team within the Technology Department we are looking for an experienced Bearing Application Engineer. The team is responsible for the selection, certifying, testing and general application of main bearings in Siemens Wind Power direct drive (DD) and geared (G) wind turbines. You will get responsibility for the full bearing application including lubrication, sealing, grease management, cooling and other necessary auxiliaries on a given wind turbine platform of SWP's. You will report to the higher level Project Manager in new product development programs as well as your immediate Line Manager What are my responsibilities? · Deliver all PDP (Product Development Process) work packages relevant for the main bearing in time and in quality · Safeguard that interfaces in turbine match interfaces specified for suppliers · Manage qualification programs for new suppliers · Offer expert advice to SCM and OEN colleagues Some travel activities must be expected. What do I need to qualify for this job? · You have an educational background as a Mechanical Engineer, Marine Engineer or similar · You have excellent Project Management skills - experience will be an advantage · You have knowledge and/or experience with bearing technology, material science, tribology and/or related disciplines · You have a structured approach to work tasks and information sharing · You are a team player and are able to make many interfaces come together in the organization · You are a skilled communicator in both spoken and written English In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
