The Department of Food and Resource Economics, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen invites applications for a position as assistant professor within the field of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The position is open from 1 February 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is time limited for a 4-year period.

The position will be embedded in the Department’s unit for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Management, and is expected to contribute to the general research domain covered by this unit. The position is expected to have its main emphasis on innovation and/or entrepreneurship, preferably in the context of life and health science sectors e.g. food, agriculture and/or pharma. More specifically, the position will contribute to further expanding the unit’s existing research activities on topics such as open innovation, business models, strategic decision making, university-industry collaboration, business development, capacity building, and entrepreneurship education.

We are looking for applicants with documented research experience, either qualitative or quantitative (or both) within one or more of the following research fields:

• Innovation management
• Entrepreneurship
• Strategic management
• Organization theory

The assistant professor’s duties will primarily include theoretical and empirical research, research-based teaching and public sector consultancy work. We are particularly interested in competent team players interested in contributing to the Department’s collaborative and interdisciplinary research and teaching activities within this field and unit. This should involve a combination of basic and applied research, in which the assistant professor creates a track record of project applications for competitive funding to further expand his or her own research capacity while developing the unit’s research activities and reputation. The candidate should also be interested in contributing to the unit’s educational program and associated examination obligations and in acquiring formal pedagogical training. To a limited extent, the position may also include other duties.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in one of the mentioned fields or equivalent, must have worked with research within relevant fields in a previous academic position, and have solid theoretical and thematic knowledge. Documented experience in securing third-party funding is preferred.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The starting salary is currently up to DKK 430,569 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 73,627). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
