The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen and the Elsass institute, Charlottenlund, invite applications for a 4-year Assistant or Associate Professorship connected to the Department of Psychology and the Cerebral Palsy research group at the Elsass institute. After the 4-year period there is a possibility for extension of the assistant professorship into a permanent position as associate professor. The position is available from 1 April 2019.

The Elsass Institute
The Elsass institute was established in 2006 with the aim of conducting basic and applied research to promote life quality for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy.

The assistant/associate professorship
The successful candidate will be part of the multi-disciplinary research group of Professor Jens Bo Nielsen at the Elsass institute and is expected to work closely with researchers and therapists at the Institute. The candidate is also expected to be part of the research environment at the Department of Psychology and to conduct teaching at the Department. Finally, the candidate will be expected to help in establishing a new clinic for infants and children with Cerebral Palsy at the University hospital of Copenhagen (Rigshospitalet).

Qualifications
To be qualified for the position the applicant must have a PhD in Psychology or equivalent academic qualifications.

The appointment as associate professor requires scientific qualifications equal to those that can be obtained through appointment as an Assistant Professor or equivalent. In addition, it requires research and teaching qualifications.

Further emphasis will be put on the applicant´s qualifications and competence in relation to:

• proven interests in early childhood development and family relations
• proven competence in relevant clinical and scientific methodological skills
• a strong publication record documenting the potential to deliver high quality peer-reviewed research publications
• competence to teach relevant courses in appropriate areas of psychology at undergraduate and/or master level

Conditions of employment
Terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

The annual salary as assistant professor is within the range DKR 392,000 – 413,000 (EUR 52,600 – 55,400 app.). In addition to the salary paid directly, the University will also pay a monthly contribution to the pension fund corresponding to 17.1 % of the salary. Negotiation for additional supplements will be possible.

The annual salary as associate professor is currently DKR 469,000 (EUR 61,000 app.). In addition to the salary paid directly to you, the University will also pay a monthly contribution to the pension fund corresponding to 17.1 % of your salary. • Documentation of teaching experience and evaluation, supervisory activities and pedagogical training (if any).
• Documentation of the ability to disseminate information to and share knowledge with society at large (if available).

If publications marked by an asterisk (*) are the result of a joint effort, the extent and the nature of the applicant’s contribution to each individual work must be clarified in the application, and if possible, a declaration from the co-authors or the head of the institution or office at which the work was completed should be enclosed as well.

All applicants are notified whether their application has been passed for assessment by an expert assessment committee. Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the committee and each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that relates to the applicant him/herself.
